5 Weird Things

The lady has spoken, so here's my list.
I don't think those are the utmost weirdest but enjoy anyways...

And the 5 people I'm tagging are:
Mei, Yul, Richard, Jolene & YK.

The 5 Weirdest Things About Me:

1. I adhere to a system of sets everyday without fail. They're applied in the toilet, on the computer and sleep. Made me wonder if I have OCD.

2. I refuse to buy an iPod or mp3 player because I'd rather stand in the train and observe people than get distracted by music.

3. I can eat two plates lesser than a girl who is half my size.

4. How things I don't need are in front of me but those that I really need are nowhere to be found?

5. I don't like it when people play games on my handphone. Only because I don't do it. Save battery (or so I'm made to think)

Ordinary People

From the song of the title of this entry,

"People often think that they're special..."

We all need a little humility in our lives sometimes. Well, a lot of it actually.
Sometimes we believe we're born destined to take the world by storm.
Born to walk with the weight of the world between our legs (or is it shoulders?).
Born to have the world centre its attention on us.

Yes, we all can make a difference in the world today or in whatever we do when we put our heart to it.

BUT...

as Henry Van Dyke had put it, "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward: for there you have been and there you will always be."

Getting up there is one thing. Staying there is another.

Really, at the end of the day, a little humility can separate the great from the good. Maybe even the bad.

Because, if you can't, to quote from the same song of the title of this entry,

"We're just ordinary people"

FunkyGrad Writer!

Loyal readers should know by now that I've been a columnist with MovieXclusive.com since February 2005. A lovely job that has taken me places I must say.
I love my part-time job though I don't get a cent out of it.
While things are picking up for the website, things are picking up on my side too.

FunkyGrad.com!

As of November, I've officially joined the team at FunkyGrad.com as a contributor too. For the uninitiated, FunkyGrad.com is a website for tertiary students. Started in 2000, the website has grown considerably and if you're keen to know what's happening on other campuses, FunkyGrad is the place to check it out! Click on the logo above to take a look at what the website has in store for you!

The experience, though still brief, has been a learning one.
Below are the articles and reviews I've contributed so far.

I interviewed the contestants of the SIM-UOL SRC Bash 2005 pageant.

My first review for the website was SAW II.

This was followed by another horror outing, The Descent.

Aeon Flux causes stir!

Aeon Flux, which opens in Singapore on Friday, has caused some tension on the IMDB message boards.
Or at least my friend, Stefan of A Nutshell Review, though he didn't directly do it.

This lucky bugger of a friend won tickets to watch Aeon Flux on 3oth November 2005 at Golden Village Marina. And I'm sure there were many other HIP members who won a pair themselves. Now, my dear friend posted a review of Aeon Flux on his blog and the someone from the IMDB community put it up on the boards.

In doing such, IMDB-ers from the States, have refered to him to the likes of C.H.U.D and Joblo. Wow! Hahakz.

There are no press screenings for Aeon Flux locally or in the States. Thus, many have made the assumption that Stefan is an insider who works for Paramount Pictures who wants to give a positive review of Aeon Flux prior to its release stateside on Friday(also).

Eh, hello, All movies must premiere stateside first is it?
For the record, whenever there are worldwide releases, we in Singapore get to watch them first ahead of our friends in the States because of the time difference.
That said, King Kong is set for worldwide release on December 14th, no?

Simple review on a simple blog causes quite a stir. Tsk

Well, at least I know now that I have a friend who's working for Paramount Pictures...HAHAHAHA
