eXtremely eXciting

I'm excited. I really am.

In 40 days or less, I'll be done with the green or brown or camo, whichever tickles your fancy.
And I'll be away from unreasonable and compassion-less people whom I've come to known.
This past month or so, especially so, and pretty unfortunate timing too I must say, I've had encounters in camp with people others have started to abhor, attitudes and airs that have seen better days in an ant frenzy and care and concern are probably the last things on their minds. And oh, there's the constant and irritating school of thought where "I don't care how you do it, make sure you get it done" is encouraged.

As my tenure nears its end, these things serve as a constant reminder why the vast majority of us detest conscription to begin with. There's a strong possibility I'll be leaving with more bad memories than good ones.

Well, back to the exciting moments of my life!

The ORD production is more or less set and it'll be Short+Sweet Singapore 2008! As mentioned previously, I'll be directing a play. It's called "Aided", written by Anant Shiva.
I just met my cast of five on Sunday and I must say that I'm bloody excited for rehearsals to start! I've casted five wonderful people (okay wait, Yazid, you're not counted. Haha. Kidding) and it's going to be balls of fun. I had fun with Short+Sweet Singapore 2007. I'm looking forward to another season of love!

Then, if everything goes well with North East CDC, I should be directing "Monsoon" written by Aishah Mohd Noor & Chong Yihan. The duo who are fast ousting me as resident playwright of Yellow Chair Productions. I can't tell you much about the play though except that it's a love story between two fifteen year olds and the girl is allergic to the sun! Okay, that's as far as I will go!

I guess June will also be the period when I'll find out if I've been accepted into NUS. Yep. I applied for Theatre Studies. A tad too late but Admissions was kind enough to allow me to apply the appeal way.

It's really exciting coz beyond June, things are pretty vague, which isn't entirely a bad thing. I've got an offer for a bit of work and I've offered my services for another bit of work but till they're all confirmed, I wouldn't dare say them all out loud.

What's for sure though is that I'll be shuttling back and forth to KL from late June to early/mid August depending on how everything else works out. What for? Heh.
To my friends who went for the One True Love trip in March, maybe I might find JUNE in the month of June eh? Hehehe.

And I'm itching to write some movie reviews, interview some film-makers, oh you know, the things I did with MovieXclusive.com! I can't wait! Hear that guys?! I can't wait!

And beyond that, if you hear Shaiful finally venturing into film, don't be too surprised, you heard it here first!

Okay thanks bye. I've said too much.

Crutching Good Time

Firstly, boo to all of you for not participating and allowing Stefan to win by default!

Tsk! No one wants a free movie huh?

In other news, I'm hobbling around on crutches for the time being!

Yours truly decided to join the camp mates in a bout of street soccer and got whacked in the right foot where the ball was supposed to be headed towards goal.

I can't walk using both feet just yet and there's this big scary vein that's popped up exactly where the ankle is. It's a pretty bad sprained ankle and I'll probably be better after a week of rest.

And it sucks that I've yet to finish up my blogging about my KL TRIP! Gees!

Caption Contest

I was going through some of my older entries and I realised I haven't been holding a Caption Contest for the longest time!

So I thought to myself today, why not hold one?

If you've never heard of the Caption Contest, it goes like this...

1. Take a look at the caption below.

2. Come up with a witty caption by given deadline.

3. Leave the caption in my comments link.

4. I will judge and determine the best caption.

5. The winner will win something.

Can? Simple right? So caption away!

Here's a picture from the Chronicles of Maria!

So, this Caption Contest will be on till next Sunday, 13 April, Midnight!

The winner of the Caption Contest will get a FREE MOVIE OF YOUR CHOICE!
(Conditions apply: I must have not seen it and must watch with me! Haha!)

There are no limits to the number of entries though and I must somehow know you or you know in order for you to join. I also open this to my unknown readers who have been following my blog but I don't know who you are. And oh, must be based/residing in Singapore/or coming to Singapore anytime soon.

D'lish [210308 - 240308 Trip]

And so the KL makan trip continues! We still had quite a distance to go before we could makan the one true love! Haha!

We walked around Mid Valley, contemplating what to eat. We stopped in front of various restaurants, looked inside then walked away. And soon enough, the group decided to settle on...

D'lish!

D'lish

This was because they remembered my blog entry about D'lish from my last trip in December.
Well, let's just say that no one of us regretted the visit.

Apparently, I had the same dish as the last time! Haha!
Chicken and Mushroom Carbonara. I think the serving was slightly bigger this time as it was pretty filling!

Had my Pasta with a side of Potato Salad dashed with Heinz Chilli!

This was some duck Pasta, forgot the name lah.

Taufiq looming over his duck pasta. He too finished his meal.

Zul's Peking Duck Breaded thingy which I tried.

I must say that although Duck did taste a lot like Chicken, the texture's a bit too weird for me.

I was a bit reluctant at first to go back to D'lish because while I said I enjoyed the cupcakes, I must say I jumped the gun a bit too fast the last time.

It wasn't until I visited Bisou that I discovered the true meaning of a cupcake.

Alas, I didn't have the cupcake this trip... I'm sure you'll know why. Hehe. Up next!
